Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the world. Auckland deserves a home for it that isn't a borrowed school gym. So we built one. Seven courts, real lighting, real coaching, real community.

Four ways
to play.

From your first paddle pickup to advanced drilling, there's a slot for every level, and no awkward "do I belong here?" moment.

01 · Court Hire

Book a court, bring your crew.

Pick a court, pick a time. Two to four players per booking (singles or doubles), paddles for hire if you need. $15 extra per additional player (max 6 players).

02 · Open Play

Drop in. Meet players.

Beginner socials, level-matched sessions, and more — different open sessions for different players, so no one is stuck losing 11-0 (or winning 11-0, which is almost as bad). Show up. The paddle stack handles the rest.

Frequently
Asked
Questions.

Do I need a membership to book?
No. To book a court you'll need a free CourtReserve profile — that's just an account so we know who's on court, not a paid membership. Anyone can create a profile and book at standard rates. Memberships are an optional add-on with extras like earlier booking windows and discounted rates.
How many people can play on a court?
Court bookings include 2–4 players per court, making them suitable for both singles and doubles play. You can add up to 2 additional players (maximum of 6 players per court) for an additional $15 per extra player. Paddle hire is also available for $5 per paddle if required.
Can I book multiple courts simultaneously with my membership?
No. Memberships are individual and are intended for personal use only. A member may only book one court at a time under their membership. If you're looking to book multiple courts for a social gathering, work function, or larger group, please visit our Group Events section for information on our group booking options.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, courts and open sessions are booked through CourtReserve. Walk-ins are welcome when there's space, but booking guarantees a court.
How do Private Strength & Conditioning Room bookings work?
Platinum members can privately book the Strength & Conditioning Room for one hour at off-peak times — not during busy open sessions. Just arrange it with reception first. This is your own gym session and doesn't include a gym program or personal training. PT and programs can be organised separately for an additional cost through reception.
Is there an app?
Yes. Once you've set up your free CourtReserve profile, download the CourtReserve app to book courts, join sessions and manage your bookings from your phone.
What should I bring?
Non-marking indoor shoes and a water bottle — that's all you really need to get started. Paddles are sorted if you don't have your own (see below).
What sort of shoes can I use?
Non-marking sport shoes only. No jandals/flip flops, Crocs, sliders, work boots or school shoes etc. that will mark the court surface.
I've never played before. Can I still come?
Absolutely — we coach all levels, including complete beginners. The "New to Pickleball?" session is built for first-timers, with paddles supplied, a coach on the court, and a friendly group to learn with. Even if it's your first time picking up a paddle, we'll help you get the basics sorted so you can start enjoying this amazing game.
For group lessons, do I need to organise my own group?
Group lessons take 2–6 players, and work best with an existing group of your own. We also run small-group clinics on request. Typically we'll start with a 1:1 lesson to check your level and match you with players of a similar standard.
Do you have paddles we can use?
Yes. Paddles are free to use during lessons, and available to hire at reception any time for open play or court hire — so you never need your own to get started.
How does open play work?
Open sessions where you rotate partners and opponents. We run different levels, so check the session description for the play level before you book. Sessions are best reserved ahead of time as they often fill up — walk-ins are welcome when there's space free.
Can I get in for early morning sessions?
Yes. During open hours when the centre isn't staffed — like early mornings — you'll get a digital key on your phone that unlocks the door, so you can let yourself in for your booking.
Is there parking?
Plenty. Free onsite parking right at the door, plus overflow next door. The 70 bus and Mount Wellington train station are both a short walk away.
Do you have shower facilities?
Yes, we have shower facilities available.
Can I bring kids?
Yes. Juniors aged 10+ are welcome on the court with a guardian. We also run kids' clinics through the school holidays.
Are dogs allowed?
No. Guide dogs and sight dogs are welcome — please make an arrangement with APC reception via phone first.
Can I pause or cancel my membership?
Monthly memberships can be cancelled at any time through the CourtReserve Member Portal with 30 days' notice. Billing will continue during the notice period, and no refunds or credits are provided for partial months.

6-month and annual memberships are non-refundable once activated and remain active until the end of the purchased term.

Membership holds may be available in limited circumstances and require prior approval from Auckland Pickleball Centre.

For full details on membership holds, cancellations, and eligibility, please refer to our Terms & Conditions.
Anything to know about safety on court?
Please do not walk behind a court when a point is underway. Wait until the point has finished, then quickly walk behind.
